Classrooms Changing due to Technology
TPACK
1. Is this going to be difficult to implement these ideas with students who do not have technology at home? For example what is it going to look like in rural school districts and even inner city.
2. What would happen if you had a students who's parent does not allow them to use technology?
3. They talk about the training that teachers will need. My worry with this is how will this work in schools with lower funding?
4. What would this look like in a kindergarten or first grade classroom?
5. It talks about how we will be moving away from traditional teaching, how would this change our students way of thinking?
Net Generation
1. What would the numbers be if we were to look at research from today?
*It is crazy to see that these teachers did not have much technology implemented in the classroom at all.
Teaching and Technology
1. Why would we want to take away jobs and not have jobs to replace them? Wouldn't this idea hurt our people and economy because they would not have money to support businesses?
2. Are we going to be taking away our individual styles of learning and teaching if we implement more technology?
*It is so weird for me to see that their was a 56% increase in computer usage!
Great post Brianna! You have some great questions. I love the technology but I feel kids need face to face interaction more. I feel like it will be difficult to implement technology when students do not have access to technology at home.
ReplyDeleteWith everyone leaning on technology, it is hard to say what will happen to students that do not have it at home or are not allowed to use it. I believe that in that case, teachers should try to supplement printed worksheets for the students. With so many new resources coming out, there are always workshops to go to to learn. I believe that will be the best way to try to keep up and learn new things.
ReplyDeleteGreat questions! I think it will be a work-in-progress to accommodate everyone's needs. It will need to be done and thought through with very careful decision making. I also wonder what will happen with schools that are under funded, if they just simply shut them down, that hundreds of kids going to a new school and also new ways of thinking and learning. It is difficult to know what will happen in the future because not everyone has equal access to technology.
ReplyDelete"How will this change our students way of thinking?" This is a question that not a lot of people will think of. It requires a deeper connection to teaching and learning to think of technology in this way. How will kids conduct experiments that were originally outdoor experiments? How will students think of nature when they only learn about it through technology? I feel these are all related into finding out how this changes students thinking and philosophies.
ReplyDeleteI love your questions from TPACK, Brianna! --training for teachers, funding for schools, and technology use for students--are they the issues we face now in this pandemic?
